Set against the backdrop of a Northern Appalachian family farm reeling from tragedy, “First Sunday of Spring” is a short narrative that delves into the complexities of grief, resilience, and enduring paternal bonds. The narrative unfolds in early spring as the farm is in the beginning stages of its yearly schedule, months after the death of Dennis Faulkner’s wife and Jo’s mother.
